James Plumb, a Senior Associate within Carter Newell's Resources team is heading to Europe throughout the month of October on the Australian Gas Industry Trust’s (AGIT) 2008 Overseas Study Tour.

James, the only lawyer and Queenslander on the tour was selected alongside four other industry participants from Epic Energy, Woodside Energy, APA Group and Australian Power and Gas to represent Australia.

“I feel very fortunate to have been chosen to participate in this year’s tour,” says James. “With the Australian and Queensland gas industry rapidly maturing, gaining firsthand insight and practical knowledge from world leaders will enable me to assist our clients within the industry at a new level.”

Established in 1999 the AGIT each year funds selected employees within the Australian gas industry on an educational tour visiting gas related organisations overseas, rotating each year between Europe, North America or the Asia/Pacific countries.

James' tour schedule includes:

The tour requires participants to present an overview of Australia’s Natural Gas Industry during the tour meetings, and upon their return to Australia, compile a full detailed report of the tour and present at industry conferences and seminars.
